Reducing paper use
Encouraging paperless activity
As the SET’s average paper usage is around 5 million
pieces a year, equivalent to 42.19 metric tons of
greenhouse gas emissions, SET has aimed to reduce
the use of paper by at least 20% or 1 million pieces
With an aim to reduce paper usage and encourage paperless activity, in 2014, SET reduced paper used
for photocopiers and printers by 968,040 pieces (4,840 kilograms), or a 19.5% reduction from the p
revious year, which was equivalent to the reduction of greenhouse gas emission of 8.17 metric ton carbon
dioxide. In addition, SET has joined force with InfoZave Company, a subsidiary of SCG Paper, to take used
papers into recycling process. In 2014, a total of 28,220 kilograms of papers were sent to recycling program,
reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 7.33 metric tons carbon dioxide equivalent per year.
