SET News 28/2023 March 27, 2023 SET and Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) connect investment opportunities with cross-market index display BANGKOK, March 27, 2023 - The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) and Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) now connects investment information to make Thai and Chinese securities better known among investors. The main Indices of both stock exchanges, reflecting potential and quality securities, are disseminated via each country's main communication channels: www.settrade.com and www.csindex.com.cn for the first time ever, so that investors can access information on securities listed on the stock exchanges of both countries. The information is available now. SET President Pakorn Peetathawatchai said that SET partners with SSE to distribute investment information of Thai and Chinese securities to be more widely known, under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Index Cross-border Cooperation signed by SET and China Securities Index Company Limited (CSI) which compiled and distributed the SSE group's indices. The distribution of the Thai capital market's index data through CSI website is to enhance the potential and investment attractiveness of the Thai capital market, and enable investors in China to analyze the information before making investment decision. CSI has an average 8,000 data users per day. The index cooperation is a part of SET's strategic plans to link investment opportunities abroad. This cooperation on the mutual display of index derived from discussions between SET and SSE to deepen bilateral cooperation in the financial sector, which marks the first time that the Shanghai Stock Exchange has collaborated with an exchange in the ASEAN region in the field of indices, ZHANG Zhiming, head of CSI, said, adding that the cooperation has provided an effective channel for promoting mutual understanding between China's domestic capital market and Southeast Asian capital markets. CSI is pleased to be a part in this cooperation that helps enhancing the international influence of local indices.
