Professor Kitipong Urapeepatanapong
Chairman of The Stock Exchange of Thailand

Professor Kitipong Urapeepatanapong currently serves as the Chairman of The Stock Exchange of Thailand, bringing over four decades of distinguished experience in business law and capital markets to this pivotal role. His extensive expertise encompasses taxation, mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, and family businesses, making him uniquely qualified to guide Thailand's premier securities market.

Internationally recognized for his legal acumen, Prof. Kitipong was the first Thai lawyer recognized by Euromoney Publication as a World Leading Restructuring and Insolvency Lawyer in 1999. His consistent acknowledgment as a leading lawyer in Thailand by prestigious publications such as Chambers Global, Chambers Asia, and Practical Law Company (UK) underscores his influence in the field. In 2014, Chambers Asia Pacific honored him as the sole Senior Statesman in four areas: capital markets, taxation, M&A, and restructuring. Prof. Kitipong has also authored more than 10 books on taxation, mergers & acquisitions, and family businesses.

Prior to his current position, Prof. Kitipong served as Chairman of Baker & McKenzie Thailand for 15 years before retiring in 2022. He continues to contribute his expertise to various listed and private companies, holding positions such as Chairman of Thai Credit Bank PCL, Chairman of Chotiwat Manufacturing PCL, Independent Director of SCG Packaging PCL, and Director of ThaiNamthip Limited.

Beyond his corporate roles, Prof. Kitipong is deeply involved in public and social sectors. He serves as the Honorary Chairman of the Thai Institute of Directors Association (IOD), Chairman of Cheewamit Social Enterprise Co., Ltd., Member of the Chulalongkorn University Council, Executive Committee Member of the Thai Red Cross Society, and sits on the Board of the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI).

As Chairman of the Stock Exchange of Thailand, Prof. Kitipong leverages his vast experience and respected status to drive the development and integrity of Thailand's capital market, furthering its position as a key player in the region's financial landscape.

Sethaput Suthiwartnarueput is the 24th Governor of the Bank of Thailand and board member for the National Economic and Social Development Council, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and the Insurance Commission.

Sethaput has extensive experience in economics, policy and financial markets. He has held senior positions with the Siam Commercial Bank group; the Stock Exchange of Thailand; and the Ministry of Finance, and has served on the Board of Directors at PTT Exploration and Production, Osotspa, TMB Bank, and the Bank of Thailand, where he was also on the Monetary Policy Committee.

Prior to returning to Thailand, he was with the World Bank in Washington, DC and McKinsey & Co. in New York. Sethaput received his BA with highest honors from Swarthmore College and his M. Phil and Ph.D. in economics from Yale University.

Dr. Pornanong Budsaratragoon is a distinguished professional with a robust academic background and extensive academic and regulatory experience. She holds a BBA in quantitative analysis from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand, an MBA in management of information systems from the University of Dallas, the United States, and a DBA in finance from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand. Her tenure at the Securities and Exchange Commission showcases her leadership, serving as the board member of the capital market supervisory board, chair of the sub-committee on consideration of regulations on issuance and offering of debt securities, derivatives, and structured products, chair of the sub-committee on consideration of regulations on supervision of business and market intermediaries, and member of the sub-committee on consideration of regulations on asset management.

Prior to her current role, Dr. Pornanong held the position of a full-time professor at Chulalongkorn University. In addition to heading the banking and finance department, she chaired the committee of the Master of Science program in corporate governance, faculty of commerce and accountancy. Her academic prowess is evident through the publication of numerous textbooks and research studies.

Dr. Pornanong's influence also extends to key institutions such as the Agricultural Futures Exchange of Thailand, the Stock Exchange of Thailand, the Institute Council Thai-Nichi Institute of Technology, the Office of the Higher Education Commission, and the National Savings Fund. Her multifaceted contributions underscore her integral role in shaping Thailand's academic and economic landscapes

Pakorn Peetathawatchai became President of the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) in June 2018. Prior to becoming President, he was Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy and Finance Officer since January 2013 - May 2018. In addition, he also oversees the Capital Market Research Institution which is the research arm of the exchange to help strengthen and shape the development of the capital market in Thailand. He had been Chief Marketing Officer, The Stock Exchange of Thailand, during 2010-2012 where he was responsible for the exchange's products, which are equities, bonds and derivatives, information services and market access. In additional, he supervised customer and channel services to securities companies, retail investors, and domestic and international institutional investors.

Before joining The Stock Exchange of Thailand in 2010, Pakorn was a Senior Executive Vice President for Mit Phol Sugar Corp., Ltd. where he supervised the company's Finance, Information Technology and Risk Management. He has strong treasury background from Siam Commercial Bank PCL. as Head of the Bank's Treasury Group and investment experience as Chairperson of the Investment Committee at SCNY Life and as Advisor to the Investment Committee, Government Pension Fund, and a member of the Capital Development Sub-Committee, Ministry of Finance, a member of the Asian Bond Fund - Thailand Monitoring Committee, Bank of Thailand. And Director and Chairman of Business Supervisory Committee, TSFC Securities PCL., Director of Secondary Mortgage Corporation.

He received his Ph.D. in Finance and Economics from Boston University.

Lyndon was also seconded by Morgan Stanley both to CICC for its initial launch as well as to CIC as a senior consultant. He then joined UBS to build a Shanghai Business Solutions Center as Managing Director/General Manager. He also served as Trustee on the Board of the Shanghai American School and remains a Protector on the SAS Investment Committee. Born in Taiwan and raised in the US, Lyndon is fluent in English and Putonghua. He has an Executive MBA from the J.L. Mr. Akarapon has extensive experience in the field of public health and medical administration.

From 2023, he has been serving as the Assistant Director General of the Department of Health Service Support and Director of the Bureau of Medical Hub Industrial Promotion. His work in this role includes the development of an elderly care system in Thailand and the creation of a national screening form for the elderly, covering nine aspects, for village health volunteers and the elderly.

Between 2016 and 2018, Mr. Akrapon was the Deputy Director of the Public Health Administration Division and acted as the manager of the Narcotics Prevention and Suppression Center at the Ministry of Public Health. During this time, he contributed to the Thailand National Legislative Assembly Committee, focusing on the prevention and solution of drug problems, the "To Be Number One" project at Mukdahan Hospital, drug rehabilitation treatment, and the development of a health service system (Service plan). He also played a key role in developing regulations for the Ministry of Public Health on the provision of special additional services for the people at service units under the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Public Health.

From 2006 to 2016, Mr. Akrapon served as the Deputy Director of Mukdahan Hospital, where he was involved in various administrative and health service development activities.

His educational background includes a Bachelor of Medicine (First Class Honors) from Khonkaen University in 2001, Clinical Sciences (Family Medicine) from Chiang Mai University in 2002, and Internal Medicine from the Medical Council of the Royal College of Physicians of Thailand in 2005. He has also completed several leadership and executive programs, including the ASEAN New Wave Leadership Development program by the Office of the Civil Service Commission, Thailand, and the Health Care Executive Leadership in Asia Leadership Programme in Singapore. In 2016, he graduated from the High-Level Medical and Public Health Executive Program by the Ministry of Public Health.

Mr. Akrapon's comprehensive experience and educational achievements have significantly contributed to the advancement of public health services and medical administration in Thailand.

In 1990, Siripakorn started off as a Tourism Promotion Officer in the Youth Travel Market Section in the Marketing Promotion Department. Afterwards, in 1997 he was promoted to Chief of the Youth Travel Market Section in the Youth Travel Division.

He moved to Hong Kong in 2001 to act as Assistant Director in the TAT Hong Kong Office, Marketing Services Department. After four incredible years in Hong Kong, he moved to Phuket, Thailand to become the Assistant Director in the TAT Southern Office, the Domestic Offices Department.

In March 2006, he was the Director of the Domestic Sales Promotion Division. A few months later, in October 2006, he assumed the position of Director of the Domestic Marketing Group in the Offices under the Deputy Governor for Domestic Marketing.

A year later, he became Director Secretariat to the Governor Division in the Offices under the Governor. In 2009, he moved to the Tourist Information Division in the position of Director.

He relocated to London, UK in 2010 to take up the position of Director for the TAT London Office, where he spent four rewarding years developing policies to promote Thai culture and tourism.

After moving back to Thailand, he became Director of The Americas Market Division, The Americas Region. With all his previous marketing experience accumulated during his career. In 2014, he became the Executive Director for the Information Technology Office. Within this role, he heads three main divisions: the Internal IT Division; the Marketing IT Division, responsible for digital marketing; and the Tourism Database Division, which looks after the TAT Intelligence Center (TATIC). In 2016, he became the Executive Director, Office of the Governor and was promoted to Advisor 10, office under the Governor in 2017. In 2018, he was promoted to the Deputy Governor for Policy and Planning and became the Deputy Governor for Digitalization, Research and Development in 2019 and Marketing Communications in 2021. Siripakorn is now Deputy Governor for International Marketing Europe America Middle East and Africa, overseeing Europe, America, Middle East and Africa region.

His prior experience was in engineering and consulting positions at Schlumberger Overseas S.A., Esso Standard Thailand, and IBM Thailand; and country management positions at Hewlett-Packard (Thailand) and Cisco Systems (Thailand and Indochina). He also had participated in the NBTC subcommittee to shape the initial VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) landscape for the country, as well as actively involved in the consulting roles for various public and private digital transformation projects in Public Sector, Telecom, financial and service industries. He is now leading the teams at AWS Thailand as Country Manager, which he sets the strategic direction for the company in the development of cloud business in the country. Vatsun also previously served as the Advisor to National Commission for Digital Economy and Society, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister.

Vatsun has the Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, MBA in Marketing and MIS, and Certificate of Digital Transformation from MIT Sloan Management.

He also developed a customer retention strategy for a major telecommunications company in Malaysia and a go-to-market strategy for a leading automotive manufacturer.

He has previously held roles at a number of world-class financial institutions and technology companies both domestic and international, including Oracle, Amazon, Credit Suisse, Merrill Lynch, Lehman Brothers and Phatra Securities.

Nat holds a Master's degree in Information Systems Management from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Chulalongkorn University.

Dr. Phirun Saiyasitpanich
Director General of Department of Climate Change and Environment

Dr. Phirun Saiyasitpanich is an esteemed expert in environmental engineering, currently serving as the Director General of the Department of Climate Change and Environment since December 2023. His extensive career reflects his commitment to environmental policy and planning, with notable positions including Secretary-General of the Office of Natural Resources and Environmental Policy and Planning (ONEP) from November 2021 to 2023, and Deputy Secretary-General of ONEP from November 2018 to 2021.

His leadership in climate change management began as the Director of the Climate Change Management and Coordination Division (CCMC) at ONEP from February 2016 to 2018. Prior to that, he served as Chief of the Petrochemical Section at the Environmental Impact Evaluation Bureau, ONEP, from January 2013 to 2016, showcasing his expertise in environmental impact assessments.

He holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from the University of Cincinnati, Ohio, USA (2006), where he also earned his M.E. in Environmental Engineering (2003). Dr. Saiyasitpanich began his academic journey with a B.Eng. in Environmental Engineering from Chulalongkorn University in 1997. His academic and professional experiences have made him a pivotal figure in the field of environmental engineering and policy in Thailand.

Mr. Chaiwat Kovavisarach

Mr. Chaiwat Kovavisarach has served as the Group Chief Executive Officer and President of Bangchak Corporation Plc (BCP) since 2015. He also serves as the Chairman of BCP Trading PTE LTD, a wholly owned subsidiary of BCP and the Chairman of OKEA ASA (OSE), a leading oil producer on the Norwegian continental shelf (NCS). He has more than 25 years’ experience in engineering, investment banking and senior executive management.

Chaiwat earned his Master’s degree in Engineering from Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in 1991 and MBA from Thammasat University. He graduated from King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL) in Electrical Engineering with honors.

Chaiwat commenced his career in 1987 with Siam Cement Group (SCG) where he received a scholarship for his AIT education. After serving SCG for 6 years, he moved into Asset Plus Co., Ltd. in 1994 as an investment banker before taking on a role as a corporate finance director with SG Crosby (Thailand) and later SG Securities (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. between 1996-2002. He was a fellow director of the Association of Thai Securities Companies in 2000. In 2002, Chaiwat founded TURNAROUND Company Ltd, a boutique financial advisory/investment banking company in Thailand, holding his managing director position until 2007 before becoming an advisor for Avantgarde Capital Company Limited in Thailand. Chaiwat has also served as a Non-Executive Director of BCP during 2012-2014.

Chaiwat earned a Certificate of National Defence Course (NDC 58) by The National Defense College Association of Thailand with distinction, a Certificate of Thailand Energy Academy Course (TEA 10). He also earned a Certificate of Senior Executives Class (CMA26) by Capital Market Academy, Stock Exchange of Thailand and lately, a Certificate of Senior Executives on Justice Administration Batch 25 National Justice Academy, Judicial Training Institute, Office of the Judiciary.

As founder and Group CEO of Indorama Ventures PCL, Aloke Lohia transformed the company over three decades through his entrepreneurial leadership from a family-owned niche business in Thailand to a global leader in chemicals spearheading growth, innovation, and sustainability.

Lohia founded the company in 1994 as a small, worsted wool producer in Thailand. He soon set his ambition on expanding regionally and globally by acquiring PET and polyester fibers businesses. In 2010, Lohia listed Indorama Ventures on the Stock Exchange of Thailand as a global leader in PET manufacturing. Today, Bangkok-based Indorama Ventures is among the world’s Top 30 chemical companies.

In the past decade, Lohia has expanded the company’s footprint to 35 countries, doubled EBITDA to over US$1 billion, and quadrupled the number of employees to more than 26,000. He achieved this by integrating astute acquisitions to create market-leading positions in Asia, Africa, and Europe; and more recently by expanding the company’s footprint in additional growth markets through acquisitions in the Americas. Indorama Ventures’ diversified business generated US$14.6 billion in sales in 2021, including applications serving customers in food & beverages, hygiene, mobility, lifestyle, agriculture, and other industries.

In 2022, Lohia received the prestigious Petrochemical Heritage Award from the Science History Institute in the U.S., recognizing his contribution to the chemical industry over three decades and Indorama Ventures’ journey as an industry leader in sustainability. In 2023, he was ranked 7th in the Top 40 Power Players list by leading industry publication Independent Commodity Intelligence Services (ICIS).

Under Vision 2030, Lohia is leading the transformation of Indorama Ventures as a future-ready, purpose-led company, including driving the digitalization of its global operations, developing the next-generation of leaders, and introducing bio-based and recyclable feedstock to the company’s diverse portfolio of products.

Lohia was born in 1958 in Calcutta, India. He graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Delhi and holds an Honorary Doctoral Degree of Business Administration from Rajamangala University of Technology in Thailand.

Aloke is married to Suchitra Lohia, who has co-led Indorama Ventures since inception. They reside in Bangkok, Thailand with their three children, Aradhana, Yash, and Anuj, who actively participate in managing the company. Lohia’s strong family values and the company’s family-based origins remain at the center of Indorama Ventures as a purpose-led sustainable leader in petrochemicals.

Duladeth graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Economics (BE-international program) from Thammasat university, Thailand and an Master Degree in Economics from Chulalongkorn university. He also has teaching experience in CFA and FRM programs for more than 7 years.
